The Kremlin did not comment on the removal of declarations of officials from the websites of departments

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that he was not aware of the removal of income declarations for previous years from the websites of some ministries. Such information has not been removed from the Kremlin website, he stressed.

Journalists asked Peskov to comment on reports about the disappearance of declarations from websites, including the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Defense, and whether this is due to a presidential decree that allowed not to publish the data of officials working in the NVO zone.

“I don’t know anything about the removal in all recent years. We have not removed anything from our site. Here you need to contact each specific ministry and ask why such a decision was made,” he replied.

Employees of the presidential administration handed over their declarations to those who were supposed to, now they are being studied by control units, special services and tax authorities, Peskov added. When asked if the Kremlin sees the risks associated with the removal of declarations, Peskov pointed out that the entire base for anti-corruption work is preserved.

“Here, the main thing is not publication. The main thing is that this declaration is submitted to the relevant authorities, in the same way as it was submitted. And all checks are organized in the same way and just as scrupulously as it was before,” he added.

On March 1, a law came into force, according to which income declarations of deputies and senators are published in a generalized form – that is, without indicating the names and surnames of parliamentarians. Peskov also said that Vladimir Putin and all employees of the presidential administration passed income declarations. He clarified that the publication of these documents in 2023 is not provided.

A source in the Duma apparatus noted that deputies would need to publish generalized information on incomes when the presidential decree ceases to be in force, which allows not to disclose information about incomes during the period of the special operation.
