Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the information about the detention of people who were preparing a coup d’état in Germany.
“This is rather an internal problem of Germany, they themselves state that there can be no talk of any Russian intervention. We learned about it from media reports, there is nothing to say about it,” he said.
Earlier today in the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Germany reported about the detention of 25 people, including Russian citizens, who were preparing for a coup. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the suspects are members and supporters of a terrorist organization that was created in 2021. Their goal was to “overthrow the existing political system in Germany,” the department said.
The Prosecutor General’s Office noted that one of the suspects tried to establish contact with representatives of the Russian Federation in Germany. It is specified that the Russian woman is suspected of helping members of a terrorist group to contact representatives of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the investigation has no evidence that the Russian side supported the conspirators.
After that, the Russian embassy in Berlin reported that it had not received notifications from the German side about the detention of a Russian woman in the case of preparations for a coup d’état in the country.
