France’s transfer of long-range missiles to Ukraine is a “wrong decision,” the Kremlin said.
“This, from our point of view, is an erroneous decision, fraught with consequences for the Ukrainian side, because it will naturally lead to the adoption of countermeasures,” said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
He clarified that “it remains to be clarified and to find out what kind of radius we are talking about.” Peskov also recalled that such decisions will not affect the course of the special operation, but they “can only make the fate of the Ukrainian Kyiv regime more difficult.”
French President Emmanuel Macron announced on the transfer of long-range missiles to Ukraine for “deep strikes”. He explained this decision with the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) during the offensive.
As stated by French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, support for Kyiv from Paris will continue and will intensify. At the same time, according to the data report German Kiel Institute for the World Economy, France has obligations for military supplies to Ukraine for only 450 million euros. For comparison, neighboring Germany increased deliveries from February to June to 7.5 billion euros.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has repeatedly pointed out that pumping Ukraine with weapons brings NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia.
