The Kremlin commented on the new drone strike on Moscow City

Moscow is taking all necessary security measures. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“Yesterday I told you that, of course, only the military can and should comment on this from an expert point of view. Indeed, the threat exists, it is obvious, but measures are being taken,” he said, answering the question in which case security measures will be strengthened.

Peskov also noted that in the current situation, the Kremlin does not see Kyiv’s desire to carry out a terrorist attack by analogy with September 11, 2001.

Early on the morning of August 1, several drones again tried to attack Moscow, they were shot down by air defense (air defense), but one still flew to the tower in Moscow City. Damage was received on the facade at the level of the 21st floor. As a result, no one was hurt.

Later, the Ministry of Defense clarified that two Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the air by air defense systems over the Odintsovo and Naro-Fominsk regions in the Moscow region. Another drone was suppressed by means of electronic warfare (EW). As a result, he lost control and fell on the territory of Moscow City, the department added.

This is the second attack by Ukrainian drones on the Moscow City towers in the past few days. Last time drones attacked complex on the night of 30 July. Then the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, reported that as a result, the facades of two office towers in Moscow City were slightly damaged. There are no victims or injured. According to the Ministry of Defense, the drones fell after being suppressed by electronic warfare. Another drone was shot down by air defense systems in the sky of the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region.

Against the backdrop of what happened Peskov informedthat Ukraine’s new attacks on Moscow confirm the “essence of the Kyiv regime.” According to him, “all possible measures are being taken to organize protection at the required level.” Peskov notedthat Moscow and the Moscow region do not plan to raise the level of the terrorist threat.
