The statement by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev about a possible clash between Poland and Russia and Belarus is one of the possible hypothetical scenarios. This was stated by presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
“In this case, Dmitry Anatolyevich gave a very deep analysis of the situation, outlining various scenarios, in such an extensive article in Rossiyskaya Gazeta. Yes, indeed, different scenarios are described there, which hypothetically exist on the agenda,” Peskov said.
Earlier, Medvedev, in an article for Rossiyskaya Gazeta dedicated to November 4, statedthat the build-up of Poland’s military potential could provoke a direct clash between Warsaw and Minsk and Moscow. “Moreover, Poland’s adventurous actions, if thoughtlessly supported by its NATO allies, could lead to much more dangerous consequences for the whole world. And then Poland will play the role of the “hyena of Europe” that unleashed the third world war,” he wrote.
Medvedev has repeatedly stated threats to build up Poland’s military potential. In particular, on July 1 he suggestedthat if nuclear weapons are deployed in Poland, they will be used.
