Russian President Vladimir Putin will sooner or later give interviews to international media, including American ones. At a time when “the public is seriously intoxicated by such Russian-hating propaganda,” this makes no sense. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

“We receive dozens of requests every day from international media, including American ones, asking President Putin to give an interview. We believe that there will definitely come a time when such an interview will be required. But at the moment, firstly, when one way or another the public is seriously intoxicated by such Russo-hating propaganda, it’s unlikely that anyone is now able to soberly perceive Putin’s analysis of the situation, his vision of the future, and so on,” he said, answering a question whether the President is willing to give an interview to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Peskov also recalled that in conversations with foreign journalists, Putin is always extremely frank, gives detailed answers to questions and clarifies Russia’s position. “It will be the same this time. Whether Carlson will be among those considered as such an interviewer, well, we’ll wait and see,” he added.

At the end of August, the editor-in-chief of Rossiya Segodnya and RT, Margarita Simonyan, reported that Carlson “really requests an interview with Vladimir Putin.” However, on September 25, in an interview with the Swiss publication Die Weltwoche, Carlson statedthat the US government thwarted his plans to interview the Russian leader.
