The publication of the American newspaper The Washington Post (WP) is another piece of information, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov. This is how he commented on the issue of the publication’s article claiming the start of deliveries of Iranian drones to Russia.

“The Washington Post, unfortunately, has been publishing a lot of information stuffing lately,” Peskov said.

At the same time, relations between Russia and Iran are developing dynamically and will continue to develop, he added.

By information WP, On August 19, transport planes allegedly took off from Iran carrying at least two types of unmanned aerial vehicles capable of carrying ammunition to attack radar, artillery and other military targets. In particular, the UAVs of the Mohajer-6 and Shahed series are said to be the first among the transferred drones. In the future, it is planned to transfer hundreds of Iranian UAVs of various types, White House officials told the newspaper.

The fact that the Iranian authorities plan to transfer to Russia several hundred drones, including those capable of carrying weapons, declared as early as July 12, Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Jake Sullivan. At the same time, according to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, Vladimir Putin did not discuss the issue of deliveries of drones neither with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, nor with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during his visit to the country on July 19.

On June 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russian troops would make much greater use of robotics, the latest command and control and intelligence equipment, drones, and actively develop weapons systems based on new physical principles (laser, electromagnetic weapons, etc.). According to him, in 2022, it is planned to put the first heavy intercontinental ballistic missile “Sarmat” on combat duty, and the S-500 air and missile defense systems have already begun to enter the troops.
