Dmitry Peskov told reporters that one of the goals of the sabotage at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, behind which, according to him, Ukraine clearly stands, was the water supply of Crimea.
“The sabotage set one of the goals to deprive Crimea of water,” he said, noting that as a result of the explosion, the water level in the reservoirs is falling and “water supply to the canal is sharply reduced.”
According to the Kremlin speaker, the reservoirs “have a certain margin of safety.” In addition, the Russian authorities took measures designed to ensure the supply of water to the peninsula, before “the canal was brought back to life.”
All this allows us to hope that the situation will not become critical.
“The situation has just arisen, specialists are working,” Peskov said, commenting on the possible consequences of the explosion of the hydroelectric power station for Crimea.
