The authorities of Kazakhstan and other countries that did not support anti-Russian sanctions are facing rude and undisguised pressure from the West. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, speaking about Astana’s readiness to limit parallel imports to Russia.
The Kremlin spokesman noted that the situation requires special attention, both from Moscow and from Astana. Russia, according to Peskov, values its relations with its neighbor and intends to continue to develop them and work to minimize risks.
Earlier, Eurasianet, citing an anonymous Kazakh official, reported that Astana intends to launch an online system from April 1 to track all goods that are imported and exported from the republic.
The source of the publication added that the authorities of Kazakhstan do not want to impose sanctions on trade with Russia, but they are not going to become a platform for bypassing anti-Russian sanctions, fearing to fall under secondary sanctions.
The material also states that the authorities of the republic urged local businessmen to take the risks of trade with Russia seriously and not try to make money on illegal re-export.
