President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will arrive in Russia on a working visit on November 28, hold talks with President Vladimir Putin, reported in the press service of the Kremlin.
“On November 28, at the invitation of Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will visit Russia. This will be his first official foreign visit after being re-elected to the post of head of state following the early elections held on November 20, ”the announcement says.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called this trip important in the development of diplomatic relations between Russia and Kazakhstan. “That’s why it will be such a full-scale, very, very important visit for us and for bilateral Russian-Kazakh relations,” he said.
It is specified that during the talks, the leaders of the states will discuss issues of further development of Russian-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance. Several documents will also be signed, including the Declaration between Russia and Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
In addition, Putin and Tokayev will address the participants of the plenary session of the XVIII Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, which will be held in Orenburg, via videoconference.
The presidents last met on August 19 in Sochi, and before that on July 17 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. In October, Tokayev attended an informal summit of CIS leaders in St. Petersburg.
