The Kremlin announced the meeting between Putin and Wang Yi

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Wang Yi, head of the foreign affairs commission of the CPC Central Committee, on Wednesday, February 22. This was announced by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

“The meeting with Wang Yi will begin within the next hour, with the President of South Ossetia – after 14:00,” Peskov said.

Previously in the Kremlin did not rule out Putin’s meeting with Van I. Peskov noted that Russian-Chinese relations are “multifaceted, allied in nature.”

On February 22, Wang Yi met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. During the talks, the Chinese diplomat emphasizedthat China will pursue an independent and independent foreign policy. During the meeting, Wang Yi also said that he was counting on “reaching new agreements” with Moscow. He added that relations between Russia and China maintain a high momentum of development, and noted that Moscow and Beijing are committed to a multipolar world, despite the “changeable international situation.”

On the eve of February 21, Wang Yi flew to Moscow, where he met with Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev. During the negotiations, Wang Yi compared the strength of relations between Russia and China with the rock, saying that they “will stand the test of the changing international situation.” In a statement by the PRC following the talks saysthat both countries opposed any form of unilateral intimidation and for the creation of a multipolar world.
