The Kremlin announced the impossibility of achieving goals in Ukraine through diplomacy

The goals of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine will be achieved by military means, because due to the position of Ukraine, it is impossible to do this by means of diplomacy. This statement was made by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“We have repeatedly said that the goals of the Russian Federation can be achieved in various ways: politico-diplomatic or, if politico-diplomatic are currently impossible, and in the case of Ukraine they are impossible, to our regret, by the military, that is, through a special military operation” , – he said.

Peskov stressed that it is important for Russia to fulfill all its requirements, including the security of the population of new regions and the country as a whole, “in a broader context.”

Earlier today Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky admittedthat in the event of the defeat of Ukrainian troops in Artemovsk, Kyiv will be forced to compromise with Moscow. He added that the loss of the city would be more of a political defeat for Ukraine than a tactical one.

At the end of February in the Kremlin spokethat they do not see the prerequisites for the conflict in Ukraine to go into a “peaceful direction”. Then Peskov said that Moscow “is moving towards achieving the goals that have been set.”

Earlier, Peskov repeatedly pointed out the impossibility of negotiations with Ukraine due to Kyiv’s refusal at the legislative level to dialogue with Moscow. On October 4, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a document refusing to negotiate with Russia as long as Vladimir Putin is its president.
