Russian President Vladimir Putin will not travel to the North Caucasus Federal District, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
“President Putin will hold the opening of the Year of the Teacher and Mentor and will meet with the participants of the pilot educational program ‘Mentor’s School’. But he will do it, for obvious reasons, via videoconference,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
Previously in the Kremlin reportedthat Putin on Thursday – March 2 – will make a working trip to the North Caucasus Federal District and visit the Mashuk Knowledge Center, where the opening ceremony of the Year of the Teacher and Mentor will be held. It was expected that the president would present state awards to teachers who raised students who received the title of Hero of Russia while performing combat missions in Chechnya, Syria and during a special operation in Ukraine. Also, Putin was to meet with the Governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov.
March 2 Governor of the Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz informed about the penetration of Ukrainian saboteurs into the territory of the region. According to him, saboteurs fired at the car, as a result of which one resident was killed, a ten-year-old child was injured. Later Bogomaz wrote in the Telegram channel that the child was taken to the hospital and his life is not in danger.
