The Kremlin announced the absence of Putin’s plans to travel to new regions

Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans to travel to new regions of the country yet. This was announced by the press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

“It is never announced in advance. It has its own specifics related to security. If such visits take place, we will inform you,” he said, answering a question about Putin’s plans to travel to the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions before the elections.

Peskov also said that Putin “will continue the practice of direct communication” with the fighters who take part in the special operation, although no public events are planned yet. “The president often communicates with direct participants in hostilities, and we do not publish this information every time,” Peskov added.

Putin for the first time since the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine visited Donbass on March 20, 2023, where he arrived after a working trip to Crimea on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the annexation of the peninsula to Russia. The Kremlin did not announce these trips in advance. During a working trip to Mariupol, Putin toured several facilities and talked to local residents. The head of state visited several districts, driving a car around the city.

April 17 Putin visited the headquarters of the “Dnepr” group of troops in the Kherson direction, as well as the headquarters of the National Guard “Vostok” in the LPR. The head of state congratulated the servicemen of both headquarters on the upcoming Easter and presented them with copies of the icon of the Savior Not Made by Hands. Later Peskov explainedthat it is important for Putin, being the supreme commander, to receive information about the conduct of a special operation on the spot.
