Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that a meeting with members of the Security Council of President Vladimir Putin will be held today.
“Today, Putin has a meeting scheduled for the second half of the day, a service meeting and a private meeting. Before that, he plans to hold an operational meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council,” Peskov said.
Putin suggested discussing the development of relations with the allies of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) at the meeting, Interfax reports. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will act as a speaker on the issue of cooperation with the Union.
The President last held a closed-door meeting with council members on March 3. Then the meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, speakers of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and others. Putin holds meetings with members of the Security Council regularly.
