The Kiev prosecutor settled in a house worth 18 million UAH (≈ 42 million rubles), which his department seized. The investigation was conducted by the Ukrainian publication Bihus.

The project found out that in 2021, the cottage plot was seized by the court on suspicion of the prosecutor’s office in land and environmental problems. A year later, the court overturned its ruling due to a letter from the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office about insufficient evidence.

Already in 2023, the prosecutor of the regional prosecutor’s office, Alexander Gutsulyak, who is responsible for environmental issues, moved into the house. The cost of such a house of 180 sq.m is estimated at 18-19 million UAH. At the same time, he bought a new 2022 BMW X5. All his property was registered in his father’s name.

Gutsulyak himself told reporters that his work at the prosecutor’s office is not related to the move, and his father bought a plot of 9 acres for 200 thousand UAH. He has been building the house since the winter of 2023. However, aerial photographs showed that construction of the house began in the fall of 2021, and six months later it was ready. Gutsulyak explained this as “magic.”

The publication also found out that the prosecutor’s father does not earn enough money to purchase real estate and a new car.
