The State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus has information about “fugitive terrorists” and their instructors and is ready to neutralize this threat. About it declared Konstantin Bychek, Deputy Head of the Intelligence Service’s Investigation Department, commenting on The Sunday Times publication on the training of such groups in Western countries.

According to him, militants are being trained in several countries at once: on the basis of the Polish special forces Grom, the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union, as well as the SBU and military intelligence units of Ukraine. After undergoing primary training, the militants “are tested on the battlefield” in southeastern Ukraine, and upon their return they themselves become instructors. They, according to Byczek, are preparing terrorist attacks, as well as plans for an armed invasion, including “with the support of regular troops” of Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine.

“The State Security Committee knows these people, we know the faces of the special services officers who train them … The KGB records such terrorist manifestations, we are ready for these challenges,” he said on the air of the Belarus-1 TV channel.

On May 9, the chairman of the KGB of Belarus, Ivan Tertel, announced the prevention of terrorist attacks on the eve of the celebration of Victory Day. Then Tertel pointed out the importance of citizens’ vigilance, without which the work of any special service would not be as effective.

Earlier, President Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly stated that the West is preparing to invade the territory of Belarus. “The formation of certain regiments, banners, legions for the subsequent coup in Belarus is in full swing. The time will come – we will lay it all out for you, ”he said during a message to the Belarusian people and parliament. He emphasized that the authorities would respond to attack attempts “symmetrically, adequately.” Later in May, the republic’s Ministry of Defense reported an attempt to attack the military with a truck with a bomb.
