The Israeli Foreign Ministry protested to the Russian Ambassador to the Jewish State Anatoly Viktorov in connection with the visit of the Hamas delegation to Moscow. About it reported Israeli Foreign Ministry.

Israel takes seriously the lack of an unequivocal and clear condemnation of Hamas by Moscow, as well as Russia’s actions in international organizations, emphasized Simone Halperin, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Eurasian Affairs.

“Hosting Hamas leaders, who are directly responsible for the bloody terrorist attack on October 7, the taking of hostages and the murder of more than 1,400 Israelis, creates the impression of legitimizing terrorism against Israelis,” the Foreign Ministry concluded.

October 26, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova confirmedthat representatives of the Palestinian group Hamas are visiting Moscow. The Foreign Ministry reported that during the visit of Hamas Politburo member Abu Marzouk, the release of foreigners from the group’s captivity and the evacuation of Russians from the Gaza Strip were discussed. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov ruled out communication with Hamas at the Kremlin level.

On October 27, British Defense Minister Grant Shapps on social networks called the visit of Hamas representatives to Moscow “a meeting of tyranny with terrorism.” The Russian Embassy in Great Britain and Northern Ireland in response statedthat Shapps’s statements were “overtly boorish and provocative.”
