The Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating the death of the deputy chairman of the Supreme State Administration of the Kherson region Kovalev

The Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating the circumstances of the death of Alexei Kovalev, deputy chairman of the military-civilian administration (CAA) of the Kherson region for agriculture. About it reported in the department’s Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data, Kovalev died from a gunshot wound, the attack on him and his partner was committed on August 28, 2022 at the place of residence.

“The Investigative Committee of Russia will take measures to identify the persons involved in the armed attack, their actions will be given a criminal legal assessment,” the department noted.

Kovalev, before the Russian special operation in Ukraine, was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Kherson region, and was a member of the ruling Servant of the People party. June 8 State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of Ukraine aroused against him a criminal case on charges of “collaboration activities.” At the end of June, an attempt was made on Kovalev, informed TASS – his car was blown up. On July 4, he joined the government of the Kherson region.
