The business activity index (PMI) in the services sector in Russia fell in May to 54.3 points (in April this figure was 55.9 points), according to research S&P Global.
“This indicates a steady growth in production volumes in Russian service companies,” the company notes and emphasizes that an index value above 50 points indicates an increase in business activity, and below this level, its slowdown.
According to analysts, despite the decline in the index of business activity in the services sector, a slight increase in production volumes is recorded in this industry.
S&P Global also notes that the combined index of production volumes, which tracks activity in both the manufacturing and services sectors of the Russian Federation, amounted to 54.4 points in May compared to 55.1 points in April.
