The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted the 12th rotation of observers as part of its mission to the Zaporozhye NPP. About it reported press service of the nuclear power plant.
“The mission includes four inspectors. And their task, as before, is to monitor and assess the safety status of the plant, both operational and physical,” notes the Zaporizhia NPP Telegram channel.
IAEA experts have been observers at the Zaporizhia NPP since September 1, 2022. In mid-September, they stated that the water in the station’s reservoirs would be enough for several more months to cool the reactors. The nuclear power plant’s reserves are sufficient after the loss of the Kakhovka reservoir, experts noted.
The IAEA also reported plans by the management of the Zaporozhye NPP to reduce personnel. According to the agency, ZNPP will reduce the number of employees to a minimum due to the risk of increased hostilities in the area of the plant.
