The House of Representatives of the US Congress supported the impeachment of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the second time
The United States House of Representatives has voted to pass a resolution to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. This was reported by C-SPAN.
As House Speaker Mike Johnson clarified, 214 people voted for this decision and 213 voted against it. As a result, the resolution was adopted.
Most House Republicans say Mayorkas is responsible for ignoring border controls between America and Mexico.
Note that the vote in the House is symbolic, since the Republican Party does not currently have a majority in the US Senate. The Senate is controlled by the Democratic Party and it is they who approve impeachment.
