President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) Alexander Shokhin commented on the information about the withdrawal of a number of entrepreneurs from the union. He noted that in accordance with the charter, the RSPP is constantly rotating its governing bodies. However, at present it is insignificant.
“The business press is probably poorly informed that the RSPP is an association of legal entities. RSPP members are companies, organizations, banks, many companies from different sectors of the economy. The charter states that the members of the bureau and the board of the organization change. We now do not have the largest rotation in the history of the union: there were years when four people came out, ”said on air “Russia 24” on the sidelines of SPIEF, Mr. Shokhin.
Among the possible reasons for leaving the RSPP, the head of the union indicated sanctions pressure on its members, a change in the type of activity, or the organization of personal projects by entrepreneurs.
“Some, let’s say, did not want to shine, because they fell under sanctions, others formally left the business for some other entrepreneurial activity. But in general, we have a long queue for joining the organization, joining the bureau and the board, we don’t see any problems here,” he added.
March 24 RBC, citing sources informedthat the bureau of the board of the RSPP left the Russian businessman, chairman of the board of directors of the Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works Vladimir Lisin. The decision to withdraw Mr. Lisin from the Bureau of the Board of the RSPP was adopted unanimously on March 16 at the congress of the union. In total, according to RBC, from the board of the RSPP planned exclude more than 15 businessmen, including the president of Crocus Group Araz Agalarov, former vice president, co-owner of LUKOIL Leonid Fedun, ex-head of the Russian Post Maxim Akimov, co-owner of USM Alisher Usmanov, former managing partner of EY consulting company for the CIS countries Alexander Ivlev, ex – Head of SIBUR Dmitry Konov and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Siberian Generating Company Stepan Solzhenitsyn.
