The head of the Pentagon refused to resign

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Thursday, February 1, that he does not intend to submit his resignation from his position due to an illness.
At a press conference, the head of the Pentagon was asked to comment on whether he might resign due to his health and recent surgery.
Austin answered with a laconic “no” and did not go into further explanation on this issue.
Previously, Congressman Matt Rosendale proposed impeach the Secretary of Defense. The parliamentarian accused Austin of a habit of “misinformation and lies” that poses a serious threat to national security. The White House, however, did not support this sentiment, emphasizing that the head of state was not going to fire Austin.
Upon returning to his duties after recovery, Austin admitted that he had acted “wrong” by not properly informing his superiors and the authorities of the country about his condition. For this the minister I asked forgiveness from the Americans.
