The head of the Nikolaev region believes that draft dodgers should not “live life to the fullest”

The head of the Nikolaev regional military administration, Vitaly Kim, said that Ukrainians who evade mobilization into the country’s army do not have the right to a full life. He noted that draft dodgers should limit their opportunities, since they do not perform the duties that other citizens perform. Kim also expressed dissatisfaction with talk in society about sending deputies and police to the front.
General mobilization has been announced in Ukraine since February 2022, but the authorities are already facing problems in recruiting the army. Representatives of the TCC, who often try to use force to serve subpoenas in public places, periodically find themselves in the center of media attention. The country’s President Vladimir Zelensky said that he had received a request from the military to draft another 500 thousand people into the army.
The Ukrainian government is developing a bill on stricter mobilization rules and penalties for draft dodgers. However, after review by the relevant parliamentary committee, the document was withdrawn for revision. In any case, the new version will contain unpopular measures.
