How informs portal Orda.kz, the head of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Akylzhan Baimagambetov admitted with regret that sanctions against Russia create problems for Astana.
According to him, the government of the country is trying not to become a tool for Russia to circumvent Western sanctions. However, these are far from all the problems caused by anti-Russian restrictions.
“We are trying to maintain a neutral stance towards Russia. However, Russia is our largest trading partner …. We are trying to use a balanced approach, because sanctions against Russia … have a negative impact on economic activity to some extent ( Kazakhstan – ed.) in certain directions,” Baimagambetov said.
