The head of the Ministry of Transport of Khakassia was arrested on suspicion of taking a bribe

The Minister of Transport and Roads of Khakassia, Dmitry Vasiliadi, is suspected of taking a bribe, by a court decision, the official was taken into custody for two months, informs TASS with reference to the joint press service of the courts of the republic.

The preventive measure was chosen by the Abakan city court. Vasiliadi will be in custody for two months, until November 1, 2023, inclusive, the report says.

The minister, who has led the department since 2020, has been charged under Part 5 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on a large scale by an official).

In August, in the Ulyanovsk region, a court arrested Andrey Bolshakov, the former mayor of Dimitrovgrad, in a corruption case. He was chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention until October 7 this year inclusive. Bolshakov is charged under Part 1 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale).
