The head of the Russian Ministry of Transport, Vitaly Savelyev, at a meeting of President Vladimir Putin with members of the government, said that thanks to the Platon system launched in 2015, more than 200 billion rubles were attracted to the road fund.
The Platon system provides for the collection, processing, storage and automatic transmission of data on the movement of trucks weighing over 12 tons and applies to all public roads of federal significance.
The road fund is a part of the budget that is used to finance road activities.
“During the operation of the system, over 1.7 million vehicles weighing over 12 tons and more than 200 billion rubles were registered. transferred to the road fund,” said Mr. Savelyev (quoted from TASS).
Vitaly Savelyev also said that the Ministry of Transport has developed two digital platforms: for recording drone data (maximum takeoff weight from 150 g to 30 kg) and providing UAV access to a single airspace.
