Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said that the additional indexation of the tariff by 6.3% for the transit of electricity through the main networks is a one-time measure. The tariff increase was explained by the need to finance the infrastructure of the BAM and the Trans-Siberian Railway.
“This is a one-time measure that applies only to the FGC tariff, it does not affect the population. In all other respects, tariff changes will take place on time in accordance with the parameters laid down in the socio-economic development forecasts,” Nikolai Shulginov said on the sidelines of the Caucasian Investment Exhibition (quoted by Interfax).
The government unscheduled increased the main tariff by 6.3% from May 1 to December 31.
