The resignation of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, which was previously reported in the Verkhovna Rada, may not take place. Reznikov told Reuters that Zelensky asked him not to leave his post.
When Reznikov was asked if he would continue to head the Ministry of Defense, he replied that it was “the president’s decision.”
Earlier, there was information that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, was tipped to replace Reznikov as the Minister of Defense. The resignation of Reznikov was discussed in early February after a corruption scandal emerged in the Ukrainian military department, but later the hype subsided.
