General Director of the State Space Research and Production Center named after MV Khrunichev (GKNPTs) Aleksey Varochko said that the center plans to send two Proton-M heavy-class rockets to the Baikonur cosmodrome. This was reported by Mr. Varochko to RIA Novosti.
The CEO recalled that in 2023, two such rockets had already been launched from the cosmodrome. They helped deliver the Elektro-L No. 4 (February 5) and Luch-5X (March 13) vehicles into orbit.
“Proton” is a heavy class launch vehicle designed to launch spacecraft into outer space. Alexey Volin, CEO of the state enterprise Space Communications, said earlier that Proton would be launched until at least 2026. The Khrunichev Center in January 2022 reported TASSthat production should be completed in the same year.
