The head of the “Circle of Good” Alexander Tkachenko – about the new obligations of the fund

Alexander Tkachenko, Chairman of the Board of the Circle of Good Foundation, explained to Kommersant that the accumulated experience, as well as the ratio of current receipts and expenses of the fund, gives confidence that he will be able to fulfill both the obligations already undertaken and new ones – organizing and financing assistance to children who are now provided under the VZN program.

Mr. Tkachenko recalled that the fund was created as “a reliable and permanent source of funds to help children with severe and rare diseases.” “At the first stage, these funds made it possible to provide them with expensive medicines that were not purchased under other regional and federal programs. Obviously, now it is possible to guarantee care for a much larger number of children with diseases that require expensive therapy. The position of the foundation has been unchanged since its inception: if a child needs treatment, our task is to provide him with the opportunity for therapy,” said Alexander Tkachenko. He noted that specific mechanisms for solving the problem, including a list of diseases and drugs, changes (if necessary) to the regulatory framework and the definition of financing schemes, will be worked out jointly with the Ministry of Health, State Duma deputies and specialized specialists.
