The head of Roscosmos announced the interest of Asian and African countries in Russian engines

Asian and African countries are showing interest in Russian plasma engines, said Yury Borisov, head of Roskosmos, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Today, under the conditions of sanctions, we have reoriented, the interest in these engines is very serious in the countries of Asia, China, India, Africa – I will tell you about this in addition, regarding my trips to Africa,” said the head of the state corporation, his words leads Kremlin press office.

At the meeting, Borisov also said that the corporation offered African countries the construction of modules for the future Russian Orbital Station (ROS).

In mid-April, Borisov at the Tsiolkovsky International Space Film and Program Festival announced that the construction of the Russian Orbital Station would be fully completed in 2032.

He clarified that the first stage of construction is scheduled for the period 2027-2030. Earlier, Borisov, in an interview with Interfax, said that the first stage involves the creation of a functioning core of the station (a scientific and energy module, nodal and gateway modules, a base unit). Already at this stage, astronauts will be able to fly in and work at the station. The second stage involves the docking of the target modules, it is scheduled for 2032.
