The head of North Ossetia guaranteed Putin the development of Beslan – Kommersant

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with the head of North Ossetia-Alania Sergei Menyailo. They discussed industrial production, economic and social development of the republic. In particular, Mr. Menyailo promised the president that in 2024 all measures under the program for the socio-economic development of Beslan will be completed.

“For Beslan, funding is full for all events. If last time I reported that not all events were provided, then this year all events were provided. This year we are finishing 21 objects, next year – 24 objects, and according to the program for the socio-economic development of Beslan next year, all activities will be completed,” said Sergei Menyailo (quoted from website Kremlin).

Also, the head of North Ossetia-Alania told Vladimir Putin about landslide problems in the region. “An examination was carried out 20 years ago, but the landslide events died down a little. Now we have done this examination again, they have become more active. The village of Maly Malgobek – there is no longer half a village there, and the houses in which people now live are unsuitable for habitation. “The village of Predgornoye is the same,” he clarified. According to Sergei Menyailo, the program for the resettlement of unsuitable houses in the Mozdok region is designed for two years.

Speaking about the development of industry in the republic, Mr. Menyailo noted that in seven months compared to last year, the index of industrial production in the republic increased by 10%, to 110%. “Is the gross regional product 100%?” – Vladimir Putin asked. “Yes, objectively,” answered Sergei Menyailo.

“We have restored the copper plant, which is now in demand; pure copper and vacuum welding are used for the military-industrial complex and electronics. A plant for the production of all types of feed has been rebuilt – this is 250 thousand tons per year if it reaches full capacity,” noted the head of the republic.

In total, according to Mr. Menyailo, the volume of shipped industrial products increased by more than 40% compared to the same period in 2022. The volume of agricultural production increased by 2.5%, the consolidated budget of the region – by 12.3%.
