The head of “Gazprom” threatened with sanctions against the Ukrainian company “Naftogaz”
The Russian Federation may impose sanctions on Naftogaz Ukrainy if attempts continue to hold courts regarding the transit of Russian gas to Europe. This is the statement of the head of “Gazprom” Alexei Miller on the air of the TV channel “Russia-24”.
He noted that the Kiev organization, under non-existent pretexts, would not comply with its obligations under the contract with Gazprom and refused to accept Russian gas in Sokhranivka. At the same time, it requires payment for its transit.
Naftogaz’s desire to continue litigation speaks of an unconstructive attitude towards the transit of Russian gas, Miller added. The representative of Gazprom considered it pointless to participate in the arbitration proceedings with Naftogaz.
“If such unfair actions of Naftogaz continue, it cannot be ruled out that this may lead to the imposition of sanctions by Russia,” he concluded.
