Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller held a working meeting with Uzbek Energy Minister Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov. During the talks, Messrs. Miller and Mirzamakhmudov discussed the prospects for cooperation and the supply of Russian gas to Uzbekistan. About it informed press service of Gazprom.

In winter, Uzbekistan faced an energy crisis: due to abnormal frosts and the suspension of gas supplies from Turkmenistan, massive power outages, interruptions in heat supply and gas supply to consumers occurred in the country. At the end of January, Turkmenistan resumed gas supplies.

January 24 Uzbekistan and Gazprom signed “road map” on the transit of gas from Russia through the gas pipeline “Central Asia-Center”, passing through the territory of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan noted that the “road map” is aimed at supplying natural gas to the domestic market in the required volumes while fully maintaining ownership of the existing gas transmission system of Uzbekistan. The main conditions for the supply of Russian gas have not yet been approved.
