The Moscow Arbitration Court rejected Apple Inc. and recognized as legal acts of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia, according to which the company imposed its payment service in the App Store on application developers. The court also recognized the fine for Apple Inc. in the amount of 1.2 billion rubles, informed FAS.

The case against Apple Inc. was initiated in October 2021. FAS found Apple guilty of violating antitrust laws in July 2022. The agency found that Apple is forcing Russian iOS application developers to use the company’s payment tool. Regulator also arguedthat the American company forbade Russian developers from informing app buyers in the App Store about alternative payment methods.

In February 2023, Apple already paid a fine for violating Russian antimonopoly legislation imposed in 2020 by the Federal Antimonopoly Service at the request of Kaspersky Lab. The company also tried to appeal the decision of the department, but the courts of three instances supported FAS position.
