The Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov at an operational meeting recommended that deputies and officials refuse to travel abroad. This is how he reacted to the scandal involving Denis Dolzhenko, a member of the United Russia (ER) faction in the Legislative Assembly, whose photo from Dubai (UAE) was criticized last week by Secretary of the General Council of the ruling party Andrey Turchak.

“I believe that in such a difficult time for the country, spending holidays in luxury resorts and deliberately publicly posting such provocative photos on social networks is unacceptable either for deputies of any level, or for officials of any level. Therefore, I once again strongly recommend that everyone refrain from traveling to foreign countries and devote all their working time to supporting those who need it – our fellow countrymen, including those who are doing their duty in a special military operation, ”said Mr. Kuvshinnikov.

Andrey Turchak earlier collapsed with sharp criticism of the Vologda deputy Denis Dolzhenko, who published a selfie from Dubai on Christmas Eve. Mr. Turchak, in particular, demanded that Mr. Dolzhenko be expelled from United Russia. When it turned out that the deputy was not a member of the party in power, the Presidium of the General Council of United Russia recommended that he be expelled from the faction in the Legislative Assembly and dismissed from the post of deputy chairman of the committee on economic policy and property.

“I hope that the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Vologda Oblast will implement the decision of the Presidium of the General Council,” Governor Kuvshinnikov concluded. The meeting of the faction, which will consider the relevant issue, has not yet been scheduled.
