The governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin in an interview with RIA Novosti commented on falling under US sanctions.
Earlier it was reported about the introduction of US sanctions against nine Russian ministers and more than 40 governors, including Busargin.
According to the head of the region, he considers the American sanctions useless, and his family has no property abroad. He noted that this is not the first time that he has been subject to Western sanctions. Last year, Busargin was included in the sanctions lists of Canada and the UK.
“All these sanctions and other measures are absolutely useless,” he said, suggesting that the sanctions be interpreted as a high assessment by the Americans of the support provided by Russian governors for the Russian Armed Forces.
“We have always been and will be on the side of Russia and its people. Let the West not forget about it,” he said.
