A drone was shot down in the Kaluga region on the night of August 7. About it informs Governor of the region Vladislav Shapsha.
“Today at 2.30 an unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down by an air defense system in the Ferzikovsky district. There are no consequences for people and infrastructure,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
On August 3, Shapsha reported seven downed drones in the Kaluga region. Six of them were eliminated at night, the seventh drone discovered and shot down in the morning. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced a thwarted attempt by Kyiv to carry out a terrorist attack on the night of August 3. Six drones were destroyed by air defenses. There were no injuries or damage as a result of the incident.
Since October 20, 2022, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a high alert mode has been operating in the Kaluga Region. Such a regime has been introduced in all subjects of the Central and Southern Federal Districts, with the exception of Sevastopol, Crimea, the Krasnodar Territory, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk and Rostov Regions. In these regions, the average level of response is set.
In addition, in December 2022 in the Kaluga region banned use drones. The exception is the drones of state authorities, local governments and a number of other organizations that fulfill the state defense order or ensure the control and functioning of infrastructure facilities.
