The government will submit proposals to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the country’s further social and economic development in September, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.
“Given the risks and external pressures that we are facing, it is necessary today to form a common vision for the further social and economic development of Russia – both in the short term, which should be reflected in the draft federal budget for next year, and for a longer period” , — quotes Mishustin government press service.
According to the Prime Minister, the Cabinet of Ministers needs to ensure the revival of consumer demand, lending, create conditions for maintaining jobs and strengthening investment activity, continue developing industry markets and contribute to the advanced formation of infrastructure. The results of the work will be presented to Putin in September, he added.
Earlier today, Mishustin said that the situation in the Russian economy was stabilized thanks to joint decisions of the government and the Central Bank. At the same time, in his opinion, the financial system under the conditions of sanctions needs “serious adjustment”.
The main task now is “to take medium-term measures aimed at restoring growth rates, and this requires the comprehensive development of all sectors: stock, banking, insurance and pensions,” the prime minister said.
