The government will allocate almost 400 million rubles to replace the dome in the building of the CEC of Russia

The Russian government will allocate 399.3 million rubles to the Presidential Administration. to repair the dome of the atrium, the meeting room, ventilation and air conditioning systems in the building of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation. The order, signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

“To allocate to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation in 2023 budgetary appropriations in the amount of 399,373.5 thousand rubles from the reserve fund of the Government of the Russian Federation for the financial support of measures for the overhaul of the building located in Moscow, Bolshoi Cherkassky lane, 9, having in view of the repair of the translucent dome of the atrium, the meeting room, ventilation and air conditioning systems,” the document says.

The Presidential Administration was instructed to control the targeted use of funds and submit a corresponding report to the government by February 1, 2024.

Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Nikolai Bulaev told Vedomosti that the building was operated by the Presidential Administration, and after an examination, it was found that the dome was in urgent need of repair.

“The dome is unique in its design. It has been in operation for probably more than 25 years and many glasses are damaged. The dome needs to be replaced,” he said. According to Bulaev, an additional examination is now underway and the issue of how to bring it to a safe condition for further operation is being resolved. “But I suppose that the replacement of the dome is inevitable,” summed up the deputy chairman of the CEC.
