The government will allocate 40 billion rubles to improve safety at work

The government plans to allocate about 40 billion rubles. in 2026 for the development of safety measures at work. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova at the plenary session of the All-Russian Labor Safety Week.

“I would like to say that over the next three years, if we compare them with 2023, we are seriously increasing expenses that are allocated to preventive measures, that is, doubling. In 2026, the funds that we expect to allocate for these purposes will amount to almost 40 billion rubles,” noted Golikova (quote via Interfax).

The Deputy Prime Minister added that the number of accidents at work has been continuously decreasing in recent years. According to its data, in 2022 the total number of accidents decreased by 8.3% compared to 2018.

Indicators of industrial injuries are also decreasing – the total number of victims with loss of ability to work for one working day or more in 2022 decreased by 40.7% compared to 2018. At the same time, there are fewer workers in Russia who work in unfavorable production conditions, Golikova emphasized.

Earlier in Rosgosstrakh statedthat one of the options for increasing occupational safety may be employee health insurance. Disease prevention and quality health care help workers get sick less. In addition, enterprises that provide their employees with voluntary health insurance (VHI) policies increase staff loyalty, the company noted.
