The government will additionally subsidize farmers by 20 billion rubles

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that in 2024 an additional 20 billion rubles will be allocated for subsidies to agricultural enterprises. According to him, thanks to such assistance, farmers receive high yields, including wheat, rice, buckwheat and sunflower.

“Such funds will allow entrepreneurs to purchase everything they need for a successful sowing campaign. This includes agricultural machinery, mineral fertilizers, fuel, seeds,” Mr. Mishustin said at a government meeting (quoted from website government).

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev, said at the meeting that out of the additional 20 billion rubles. about 7 billion rubles. will be used for preferential short-term loans for sowing. According to him, the sown area in 2024 will increase by 300 thousand hectares – to 84.5 million hectares.

In January Dmitry Patrushev saidthat in 2023, revenue from exports of agricultural products exceeded $45 billion for the first time. The grain harvest last year, according to him, amounted to 143 million tons.
