The government reported a decrease in the number of unemployed by 13.8% in a year

The number of unemployed Russians for 2022 decreased by 445,000 people, or by 13.8%, reported in the press service of the government following the meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the restoration of the labor market.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, as reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, the situation regarding unemployment in the country remains stable: compared to the beginning of the year, the number of registered unemployed decreased by 5,000 and amounts to 559,000 people. The level of registered unemployment is fixed at the same level – 0.7%, the Deputy Prime Minister added.

According to the results of the analysis of the labor market for 2022, which was presented by the Ministry of Labor, at the end of the year, the unemployment rate reached its lowest value for the past year – 3.7%. In general, over the year, the number of unemployed Russians decreased by 445,000 people, or 13.8%, the government said. At the same time, unemployment is growing in 13 regions, this is especially noticeable in the Altai Republic, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Khakassia and the Kemerovo Region. Most of all, specialists in the field of construction, mining and the social sphere are in demand in Russia, the report says.

In early February, Golikova reported on reducing the number of registered unemployed Russians to 548,000 people, which is 16,000 less than at the beginning of the year.
