The government renewed the ban on the export of rapeseed and extended the export duty on soybeans

The Russian government has signed resolution , according to which measures are extended to protect the domestic food market and load capacities for processing agricultural products. The ban on the export of rapeseed has been renewed until February 28, 2023, and the export duty on soybeans has been extended until August 31, 2024.
According to the document, past restrictions on the export of rapeseed seeds allowed to increase the load of domestic companies producing rapeseed oil and provide the livestock industry with processed products.
In the list of exceptions, when the temporary restriction will not apply, the export of rapeseed to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, the DPR and the LPR. Also, the ban will not affect the export of rapeseed within the framework of international intergovernmental agreements and the provision of humanitarian assistance to foreign states.
The export duty on soybeans has also been extended. The rate will remain at the level of 20%, but not less than $100 per ton.
According to Rosstat, in 2021, 2.79 million tons of rapeseed were produced in Russia, soybean production amounted to 4.76 million tons. By the end of 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture plans to increase the production of soybeans to 7.5 million tons, the production of rapeseed to 3.6 million tons.
