The Russian government nominated Sberbank to the supervisory board (MOEX: SBER) Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, his deputy Vladimir Kolychev, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and assistant to the Russian President Maxim Oreshkin. The agencies reported this with reference to the government order.

“Nominate candidates for election as representatives of the Russian Federation to the supervisory board of the public joint-stock company Sberbank of Russia (city of Moscow) in accordance with the annex,” the document states (quote from TASS). The government did not nominate any other candidates, nor did it disclose the current composition of the bank’s supervisory board.

In 2023, Sberbank announced that it had re-elected the entire supervisory board. It included 14 people, half of whom were independent directors. March 17, 2023 candidates for the supervisory board of Sberbank were Mr. Siluanov, Maxim Oreshkin and Dmitry Chernyshenko. The controlling stake in Sberbank is owned by the government, which owns 52.32% of ordinary shares and 50% plus one share in the authorized capital.
