A pilot project to regulate gas transportation tariffs may be implemented in 2024-2025 in the Moscow region. The corresponding draft government resolution was developed by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), reports TASS.

According to the developed project, its executors should be FAS, regional executive authorities, as well as the regional gasification operator of the Moscow region – Mosoblgaz.

The draft government decree provides for a planned increase in gas transportation tariffs in 2024, based on the regional program for the consolidation of gas distribution networks owned by the main subscribers and having signs of ownerless property.

The project itself is designed to smoothly distribute the tariff burden on consumers of gas transportation services through gas distribution networks in accordance with the maximum indexation level. It is also designed to improve the security and reliability of networks and ensure unhindered access to them.

March 11, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reported on the allocation of 1 billion rubles. to connect houses of privileged categories of citizens to gas networks as part of the social gasification program. In 2023, more than 12 thousand households were connected through targeted payments under the gasification program.

Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of his address to the Federal Assembly reported about plans to gasify the Kamchatka Territory, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Karelia and some other areas using liquefied natural gas.
