The government has extended the temporary ban on the export of rice and rice cereals until June 30, 2024. reported government press service. In addition, tariff quotas have been established for duty-free import of grain crops, sunflower oil and sunflower sprat from the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, LPR and DPR.
According to the government press service, restrictions on the export of rice and rice cereals do not apply to the supply of these goods to the states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as well as to Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The government statement notes that these products can also be sent abroad as humanitarian aid or as part of international transit shipments.
Duty-free import of grain crops, sunflower oil and sprat into the LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions is regulated by another government decree. According to it, from January 1, 2024, the quota for the export of grain crops will be 2.1 million tons, for the export of sunflower oil – 106.5 thousand tons, sunflower sprat – 140.9 thousand tons. Quotas will be valid until December 31.
On July 29, the Russian government banned the export of rice until the end of 2023. On December 28, the Ministry of Agriculture made a proposal to extend the ban until June 30, 2024. Initially, export restrictions were introduced for the period from July 1 to December 31, 2022.
