The government has extended support for those who have difficulty finding work

The government has extended until the end of 2024 a number of measures to support citizens looking for work. Relevant resolution signed Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

In addition to those who have difficulty finding work, citizens who are at risk of dismissal, transferred by their employer to part-time work, or sent on unpaid leave can count on help from employment centers.

“Such citizens can count on the help of employment centers to navigate the labor market, maintain or increase their income,” the government noted. A citizen can find temporary employment, as well as help with starting his own business, for example, with financial support for state registration as an individual entrepreneur, as well as when creating an organization or farm. In addition, employment centers can send such citizens for professional retraining.

To get help, you need to contact regional employment services. Residents of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson regions can contact employment centers at their place of residence in other regions.

The government launched these support measures in 2022 “to reduce labor market tensions” amid sanctions. Since then, more than 360 thousand Russian job seekers have received such support.

Additionally, to support the labor market this month was accepted new edition of the law “On Employment in the Russian Federation”. According to the amendments, unemployed Russians will be able to take short-term part-time jobs without losing unemployment benefits.
